She began her solo career with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Zubin Mehta. Since then she has performed as a soloist with numerous international orchestras, such as the German Symphony Orchestra in the Berlin Philharmonie, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jeffrey Tate, the Prague National Theatre Symphony Orchestra in the Cologne Philharmonie, the Orchestre de Chambre de Gen\u00e8ve, the National Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Radio and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, she performed with the Munich Symphony Orchestra at the Philharmonie im Gasteig.\r\n\r\nShirley Brill won the Concours de Gen\u00e8ve (2007) and the International Clarinet Competition Markneukirchen (2006). In 2003 she received the special prize of the international ARD Music Competition.\r\n\r\nShirley Brill is a regular guest at international music festivals such as the BBC Proms (England), Davos (Switzerland), Ljubljana (Slovenia), the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier (France), the Schubertiade in Austria and the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival in Israel. Within Germany, she has recently performed in Schleswig-Holstein, at the Rheingau Festival, at the Heidelberger Fr\u00fchling and at Lars Vogt's festival \"Spannungen\". She has performed with musicians such as Daniel Barenboim, Sabine Meyer, Emmanuel Pahud, Janine Jansen, Tabea Zimmermann, the Jerusalem String Quartet, the Faur\u00e9 Piano Quartet and the Trio di Clarone. In 1999 she founded the Duo Brillaner with the pianist Jonathan Aner. The duo has performed in numerous concerts in Europe (Berlin Philharmonie), the USA (Carnegie Hall), Asia, Australia and in their home country Israel.\r\nSince 2009, Shirley Brill has been principal clarinetist of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra conducted by Daniel Barenboim. Together with the orchestra, she has performed in renowned concert halls such as the Vienna Musikverein, the Salle Pleyel in Paris, the KKL in Lucerne, La Scala di Milano and on numerous other international concert stages. In 2010, she was honoured to receive the Westphalian Peace Prize on behalf of the orchestra.\r\n\r\nShirley Brill also devotes herself to teaching: she has already taught as part of the Yellow Barn Festival (USA) and given master classes at conservatories and universities in Australia, Canada, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland and Israel. Shirley Brill was a visiting professor at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik \"Hanns Eisler\" Berlin, a lecturer at the Barenboim-Said Academy and a professor of clarinet at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik Saar in Saarbr\u00fccken.
