Piano recital with Jakub Kuszlik
Jakub Kuszlik belongs to the young generation of outstanding pianists and has already played his way into the hearts of the audience at the 18th Chopin Competition. In memory of Chopin’s visit to Robert and Clara Schumann, he is now performing in Leipzig for the first time.
Kuszlik won the 4th prize at the 18th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw and the Polish Radio Prize for the best performance of mazurkas. He won the second prize at the 10th Ignacy J. Paderewski International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (2016) and was a semi-finalist at the Beethoven Competition in Bonn (2017). In March 2019 he won the second prize at the Hilton Head International Piano Competition in the USA and in June 2019 the third prize at the Top of the World International Piano Competition in Tromsø, Norway. Jakub Kuszlik is also a finalist and winner of the Young Jury Prize at the Concours Musical International de Montréal 2024.
He has performed in the United States, Japan, Vietnam, Germany, Italy, Greece, Norway, Armenia, Iceland, France, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Lithuania, Kosovo, Brazil, Chile and Poland.
He has played with leading orchestras, including the National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra Katowice, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, the Philharmonic Orchestra Plauen-Zwickau and played under conductors such as Andrzej Boreyko, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Paweł Przytocki, Tadeusz Strugała, Anna Sułkowska-Migoń, Xian Zhang, Leo Siberski.
In February 2022, his first solo album “Brahms, Chopin” was released by Polish Radio, which contains recordings of his recital in the Polish Radio concert studio. In December 2022, the artist released his second album “Chopin & Debussy”
