My career aspiration as a child:
When I was a child, I wanted to be a professional footballer and even a priest for a short time. Since I was 12, it was clear to me that I wanted to be a musician.
This was the profession my parents envisioned for me:
None, they have all been very supportive of my interests.
Works or concert experiences that shaped me:
As a child: my cassettes with Mozart’s 40th Symphony and his violin concertos. Mahler’s 6th Symphony was the first piece I played in a large orchestra, an overwhelming experience!
Work with the greatest music-making pleasure (and why?):
Symphonies by Mozart and Schubert.
I would like a work for my instrument by this composer (and why?):
I am very happy with the repertoire for violin.
I would get up in the middle of the night for that:
For surfing in the first light of day.
Special / curious own concert experience:
During a trio concert in Bolivia, there was a power cut and it was completely dark. Audience members came on stage and lit up the notes for us with their mobile phones.
My most valuable tip for the next generation of musicians:
Play as much chamber music as possible.
That's what I wish for the future of the classical music scene:
That it is always about the content of the works.
My next project:
Mendelssohn and Schumann trios with the Sota Piano Trio.
That's what I associate with Leipzig as a city of music:
Joy that music still plays a central role in the city of Bach, Mendelssohn and the Schumanns.
