Maximilian Hornung

Born in:

Augsburg

Current centre of life:

Munich

Instrument:

Cello

Second, third or even fourth instrument:

Cooking spoon

My career aspiration as a child:

I never thought about that.

This was the profession my parents envisioned for me:

The main thing is to be happy and content, no matter what.

Works or concert experiences that shaped me:

All

Work with the greatest music-making pleasure (and why?):

The pleasure of music-making does not come primarily and exclusively from the work itself but also from what one makes of it and how one takes it.

I would like a work for my instrument by this composer (and why?):

From Dieter Ammann, because he is a genius.

I would get up in the middle of the night for that:

When my daughter screams.

Special / curious own concert experience:

There is hardly any reality that is not either special or curious.

My most valuable tip for the next generation of musicians:

Have patience and trust.

That's what I wish for the future of the classical music scene:

A little more authenticity.

My next project:

Seen from when?

That's what I associate with Leipzig as a city of music:

Bach, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Dumpling
