Thomas Eberhardt

Thomas Eberhardt was born in Dresden in 1975 and comes from a musical family of doctors. His parents encouraged his artistic development from an early age. He began his training on the violin and later on the bassoon and piano. It was clear to him from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career as a musician. His studies led him to the Dresden Special School of Music and the music academies in Dresden (Prof. Bernhard Rose) and Munich (Prof. Eberhard Marschall).
He received his first orchestral engagement at the Bavarian State Opera in 2000 and has been principal bassoonist of the Staatskapelle Dresden since 2004.

Thomas Eberhardt has been associated with various chamber ensembles, some of them for many years. Numerous tours with these ensembles have taken him to a number of European countries as well as to the USA, Brazil, Argentina, China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
