A musical theater piece for Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy with Bodecker & Neander and Con spirito-musicians
The magic of A Midsummer Night’s Dream envelops this fantastic picture theater with Bodecker & Neander and the Con spirito-musicians. 13 scenes take you into the universe of the artist Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Pantomime, film and object theater merge with the music and enable an extraordinary journey into Mendelssohn’s life – without words – without explanation.
During a visit to the Mendelssohn House, the artistic duo discovers a secret passage that leads to a suitcase and thus into another world. Mendelssohn himself and people who influenced him, such as his father Abraham, his teacher Carl Friedrich Zelter, Goethe and of course his sister Fanny, appear as if in a nocturnal dream and tell of the child prodigy, composer, conductor, painter, traveler and letter writer.
In combination with the collage-like arrangement of the music and a large portion of magic, a moving biography is sketched out and at the same time a multi-faceted picture of the artist is created.
