Noémie Bialobroda

Born in:

Paris

Current centre of life:

Geneva

Instrument:

Viola

Second, third or even fourth instrument:

Piano and violin when I was younger.

My career aspiration as a child:

Musician.

This was the profession my parents envisioned for me:

Mathematician

Works or concert experiences that shaped me:

Grigory Sokolov’s recital at the Verbier Festival 2013

Work with the greatest music-making pleasure (and why?):

Mendelssohn’s Octet

I would like a work for my instrument by this composer (and why?):

Beethoven

I would get up in the middle of the night for that:

Muesli with yoghurt

Special / curious own concert experience:

On our US tour with the Aviv Quartet, we missed our flight once and had to take another connection. Because we were so late, I had to change into my concert dress on the plane.

My most valuable tip for the next generation of musicians:

Play a lot of chamber music!

That's what I wish for the future of the classical music scene:

That we maintain our high standards and integrity.

My next project:

To create a new chamber music series for the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève, bringing together students and teachers.

That's what I associate with Leipzig as a city of music:

Johann Sebastian Bach and Felix Mendelssohn
